Once every month, we hold a special service to acknowledge children who have put a special smile on someone’s face. The children are nominated by members of staff or by their fellow pupils and their names are put on the Happy Tree which can be seen by the main entrance. The names are written on leaf shapes and inside the leaf it explains why the child has been nominated. It might be:
- for making a special effort,
- for making progress,
- for success in school or in the community,
- for showing kindness,
- for shouldering responsibility,
- for showing initiative
- and so on.
At the end of the year the child who has been nominated most often from each class is rewarded.
This year, there is a special red leaf on the tree each month in recognition of a pupil who has made a particular effort to speak Welsh.
All the leaves are displayed on the wall in the foyer.
